2025 ITA Wheelchair Collegiate Tennis National Award Winners

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the 2025 national award winners in wheelchair collegiate tennis, recognizing top athletes and coaches for their outstanding contributions during the 2024–25 season.

Coach of the Year

Tyler McKay

University of Alabama

In his second season as head coach, McKay led Alabama to a dominant championship win, securing the program’s ninth national title. His leadership and player development—including guiding freshman Francesco Felici to a singles title—cemented his recognition

Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership & Sportsmanship Award

J Betts

University of Michigan

Betts stood out for her leadership, academic excellence, and community impact. A multi-sport athlete turned collegiate wheelchair tennis standout, she combines athletic dedication with advocacy for inclusivity and disability rights.

Rookie of the Year

Francesco Felici

University of Alabama

Former US Open Junior Champion Felici went undefeated in his freshman season, winning the national singles title and playing a key role in Alabama’s perfect season and championship win.

Player of the Year

Caiden Baxter

University of Michigan

Baxter, who began his journey with no tennis experience, rose to become the top-ranked A player in the U.S. His consistent performance throughout the season included multiple USTA titles and a runner-up finish at nationals.
